Impressive – Tech4Win webinar – June 2021 – presentations and replay

 

This webinar organised by the IMPRESSIVE and TECH4WIN European projects, took place on June 11th 2021. Both projects received fundings two years ago under Horizon 2020. They aim at developing highly innovative transparent photovoltaic (PV) cells to be used as windows.

The webinar presented the Challenges and Opportunities of Transparent PV.

Prof. Xiaojing HAO (University of New South Wales, AUSTRALIA) - «Alternative inorganic hole transport layer for semi-transparent Sb2(S,Se)3 solar cells»

The first speaker of our international IMPRESSIVE – Tech4WIN webinar was Professor Xiaojing HAO from the University of New South Wales – School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering (Sydney). She presented her research on « Alternative inorganic hole transport layer for semi-transparent Sb2(S,Se)3 solar cells ».

Prof. Bart VERMANG (University of Hasselt, BELGIUM) - « Development and optimization of UV filtering and UV-Selective PV devices (TECH4WIN) »

Bart Vermang is a TECH4WIN partner from the University of Hasselt, Faculty of Engineering Technology, with a PhD on silicon photovoltaics (PV).  During the IMPRESSIVE – Tech4WIN webinar, he presented TECH4WIN results on the « Development and optimization of UV filtering and UV-Selective PV devices ».

Dr. Yuhang LIU (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, SWITZERLAND) - « Development of high-efficiency and stable large bandgap MAPbBr3-based perovskite solar cells (IMPRESSIVE) »

Yuhang Liu is a scientist at EPFL – Swiss Federal Institute of Technology – in the Laboratory of Photonics and Interfaces. He presented during our June 11th webinar the « Development of high-efficiency and stable large bandgap MAPbBr3-based perovskite solar cells » in the framework of the IMPRESSIVE project.

Prof. Richard LUNT (Michigan state University, USA) - "Emergence of Highly Transparent PVs for Distributed Applications »

Richard Lunt is a professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at Michigan State University and is an expert in excitonic materials for solar energy and thin-film electronics. He is also the co-founder of Ubiquitous Energy, a Silicon Valley technology company developing next generation solar technologies. During the IMPRESSIVE – Tech4WIN webinar, he presented the “Emergence of Highly Transparent PVs for Distributed Applications ».

Dr. Marina RICHET and Dr. Noella LEMAITRE (CEA, FRANCE) - « Emerging transparent IR organic photovoltaic devices for BIPV integration: status and challenges (TECH4WIN) »

The 5th speakers of our joint Impressive-Tech4Win webinar were Dr. Marina RICHET and Dr. Noella Lemaitre from CEA. They presented « Emerging transparent IR organic photovoltaic devices for BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) integration: status and challenges » based on their results within the Tech4Win project.

Dr. Frédéric SAUVAGE (CNRS UMR7314, FRANCE) - “Selective NIR-sensitized solar cells for highly transparent PV (IMPRESSIVE)”

Frédéric SAUVAGE, the coordinator of Impressive H2020, is the group leader of photovoltaic and photoelectrochemistry at LRCS laboratory (CNRS). During this webinar, he presented Impressive results on “Selective NIR-sensitized solar cells for highly transparent PV”.

Aldo DI CARLO (University of Roma Tor Vergata, ITALY) - “Objectives and challenges in CITYSOLAR H2020 project”

Aldo Di Carlo is the coordinator of the Nano&Optoelectronic research group at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. His research activity concerns the design, fabrication and characterization of electronic and optoelectronic nanostructured devices. During the webinar, he presented the objectives and challenges of the CITYSOLAR H2020 project.
